Our Impact
At Abstrak Vision, impact is more than a metric — it’s the standard we hold our work to.
Through intentional storytelling and youth-centered programming, we help partners across education, community development, and corporate sectors amplify their missions, build trust, and create tangible growth for the communities they support.
2,000+ Youth & Community Members Reached
Since 2007, students from all five boroughs, mostly from marginalized communities, have gained access to professional media training, mentorship, and real production experience through our equity-centered programs. We ensure young creators understand that careers in film and media are possible—even beyond their time with us.
Example: We were honored with a District 79 Partner Award for delivering high-quality programming to students who are often overlooked, reaffirming our commitment to access, equity, and representation.
15+ Years of Narrative-Shift Storytelling
We have created powerful, culturally grounded films—with or without traditional budgets. Our work is driven by resourcefulness, and an unwavering commitment to telling stories that matter.
Example: Our feature-length narrative Made in Harlem premiered to a sold-out audience, made possible through creative tenacity and deep community support, proving that meaningful storytelling does not wait for permission.
Paid Creative Career Pathways
We prepare emerging creatives to move from passion to profession by offering training, portfolio-building opportunities, and paid positions on real productions. Many of our graduates have also gone on to study media and film in college, secure internships in the creative field, and continue developing their craft independently.
Example: Our cohort graduates regularly serve as paid junior videographers and production assistants for events, Abstrak Vision client projects, and branded collaborations—building confidence, financial independence, and industry experience.
Proven Success in Elevating & Expanding Partner Brands
Our strategic visual storytelling strengthens public perception, builds institutional credibility, and helps partners showcase their impact in ways that move stakeholders.
Example: Our documentary work around the NYCHA Citywide Basketball Tournament contributed to renewed support for a program that had gone unfunded for over 15 years, amplifying its value and cultural legacy.
Partnerships With Leading Institutions
We collaborate with schools (as certified Department Of Education Vendor), universities, nonprofits, and agencies to bring mission-aligned programming and narrative strategy to life.
Examples:
-
AARP: Film screening partnership at ABFF Pop-Up LA highlighting senior empowerment.
-
Columbia University: Intergenerational storytelling initiatives and film showcases.
-
NYC DOE: Multi-school media education cohorts providing students with technical, creative, and workforce skills.
-
NYCHA: Community-centered storytelling and youth-led documentation across multiple housing developments.
Award-Winning & Festival-Selected Films
Our films have been screened and featured at 10+ festivals on national and international stages, as well as academic platforms that champion community-centered narratives.
Examples: Our selections at initiatives such as ABFF, The Morehouse Human Rights Film Festival, The Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival, and university showcases have amplified stories that highlight resilience, culture, and intergenerational impact.
